The Poway Unified School District also lends a hand to parents with its Extended Student Services before and after school program. The Extended Student Services program offers early morning programs that begin at 6:30AM, while the after school component of the program does not close its doors until 6 PM. The school district's after school program uses the acronym "ENRICH" to describe the goals of its after school program. Among the goals of the program are "Exercise for the mind and body," "Nurturing for the whole child," "Reading and Relationship Skills Enhancement," "Investigation of Individual Interests," "Character Counts, Critical Thinking, and Creative Arts Experiences," and Having Fun at ESS."
