Time to Go Shopping
Once you’ve got those preparations out of the way, it’s time to find the home of your dreams.
Make a List
In order to find the best home for you and your family, I suggest that you make a prioritized list of the most important home features. A clear picture of what’s most important in your home search will make the search easier for you and will help you in deciding which one to purchase.
Take a Drive
Get to know the neighborhoods you are interested in. Drive around and get a feel for what it would be like to live in the area. Start getting a sense of the homes available and the sale prices in those neighborhoods.
Narrow your search
Select a few homes that interest you the most and have your real estate agent make appointments to visit them. Ask your real estate agent about the potential long term re-sale value of the homes you are considering.
Time to Buy
Once you’ve picked out the house you want to buy, your real estate agent can help you make an offer to purchase. A good agent will negotiate on your behalf to get the best possible price and purchase terms. In most cases, counter offers are made to get to a sale price and terms that both seller and buyer can accept. This is when an experienced agent with a proven track record is key.
